(FAQ) Frequently Asked Questions
What is your jewelry made of?
Unless otherwise stated, all of our jewelry is .925 sterling silver! All of our jewelry products contain a description of what metal/s, gemstones, etc are within the jewelry piece.
Do you sell jewelry with real gemstones like diamonds and sapphires?
Yes. Any jewelry piece that has a gemstone in the title, and has the words Genuine (insert gemstone name) in the description of such piece will be the acual gemstone. For instance, a piece labeled Diamond Bangle, with the words Genuine Diamond in the description, will contain real diamonds. This also is true for any jewelry piece labeled to have genuine sapphires, emeralds, rubies, jade, garnet, etc. ***However, if the gemstone in the title is written in parentheses (Ex; "Diamond", "Sapphire", "Emerald"), it is a simulated gemstone and NOT the real thing. ***see question below
Why do some of your jewelry pieces have their gemstones in parentheses? (Ex; "Diamonds", "Amethyst", "Sapphire", "Ruby")
Any gemstones in parentheses are simulated gemstones, aka imitation gemstones. While they look similar to the real gemstones they are listed as, they are not the real gemstones and will always have different chemical structures and physical properties. We apologize for being unable to list the exact materials the imitation stones are comprised of. Unfortunately, more often than not, it's impossible to gemologically identify the imitation stones without using destructive techniques on the jewelry piece. ***However, if the gemstone in the title of the jewelry piece is NOT in parentheses, (Ex; Diamond Bangle, Sapphire Ring, etc) and the description says the words Genuine Diamond, Genuine Sapphire, etc, the gemstone is real and not a simulant. ***see question above
Why is some of your jewelry gold, pinkish, or black?
Any item marked 925 is solid sterling silver. If it is some other color such as gold, pink, or black, it is 925 silver plated with yellow gold, rose gold, or black rhodium.
Some 925 silver jewelry pieces contain solid gold accents, and will be described as 925 sterling silver with 9k,10k,14k, or 18k gold accents.
Some of our pieces are solid gold, and if they are, they will be described as 9k,10k,14k, or 18k.
Do you make the jewelry you sell?
No, we buy designer and vintage jewelry from Leo Hamel Fine Jewelers ( ← that's my dad!) We hand polish every piece, fix broken or bent parts, and make the item like new.
